On March 15th, 2024, we lost our beloved Lisa—a mother, wife, teacher, and friend who touched everyone she met.

Lisa was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2022. For two years, she fought with incredible strength and grace, never losing her smile or her determination to help others.

How funds will be used:

💊Medical bills from Lisa's treatment ($45,000 remaining)
📚Lisa Martinez Memorial Scholarship Fund at Roosevelt High School
🎗️ Donations to breast cancer research in Lisa's name
👨‍👩‍👧 Support for the Martinez family during this transition

About Lisa:

Lisa taught 5th grade at Roosevelt Elementary for 18 years. She was named Teacher of the Year three times. More than 500 students came to her memorial service—each with a story of how "Mrs. Martinez" changed their life.

She was the kind of person who:

  • Stayed late to tutor struggling students for free
  • Organized the neighborhood block party every summer
  • Made homemade soup for anyone who was sick
  • Remembered everyone's birthday and anniversary

Our Promise:

Every dollar donated goes directly to honoring Lisa's legacy. We will share updates on how funds are used and the lives they impact.

Lisa always said: "Small acts of kindness ripple outward forever."

Help us create ripples that last.

With gratitude,

Carlos, Emma, and the entire Martinez family

Carlos, I was one of Lisa's students 20 years ago. She changed my life. I'm now a doctor because she believed in me when no one else did. This is for you and Emma.
