Lisa Martinez wasn't just my colleague - she was my best friend.
Lisa Martinez wasn't just my colleague - she was my best friend.
For 15 years, we sat next to each other. We celebrated promotions together, complained about meetings together, and became godmothers to each other's children. When I got divorced in 2019, Lisa showed up at my apartment with wine, tissues, and a plan to help me rebuild my life.
When Lisa was diagnosed in 2023, I wanted to fall apart. But she wouldn't let me. "We're going to fight this together," she said. And we did. Every chemo appointment, every doctor's visit, every hard day - I was there. Just like she was always there for me.
Lisa passed away on March 15, 2024. The last thing she said to me was, "Promise me you'll keep fighting. Not for me - for everyone who comes after me."
This fundraiser is my promise to her.
Every dollar we raise funds the research that could save someone else's Lisa. Every donation helps a family afford treatment. Every share spreads hope.
Lisa believed that kindness changes the world. Help me prove her right.
